Hi dear friends, have you all gain more information on phobia from the previous entry yet? Well sadly, we are heading to the last entry for our topic discussion of Phobia. For this last entry the topic is Ways to Overcome or Cure Phobia. Is there any way to cure on people that afraid of water (Hydrophobia) or afraid of balloon (Globophobia)? For sure, every disease can be cured as long as we find the ways.
When you suffer from phobia, you feel ashamed to acknowledge your condition. Thus, you become an escapist who dread to admit, “I have phobia”. To live better and to return to normal life you have to think of ways to overcome phobias.
1. Exposure Therapy.
This consists of exposing you to the very thing you are afraid of. The idea is to deconditioning you to the fear. The exposure therapy has several disadvantages as the procedure can make you feel utterly uncomfortable. Moreover, if you fail to follow the steps of the therapy correctly the consequence can indeed be detrimental.
2. Relaxation technique.
When you suffer from phobias, physicians often state the need to exercise your body. Physical exercises, which you should follow, include active breathing processes and muscle relaxation techniques. These work sometimes but they are however not the best ways to overcome phobias.

3. Role of medicines and drugs as ways to overcome phobias?
When phobia affects you, your doctor may ask you to take Benzodiazepines as a relief to the condition. Valium or Diazepum are other significant ways to overcome phobias.
Beta-blockers along with other psychological treatment plans can too create a difference in your condition of fear, but they come with several side effects to make things more unbearable and complicated for you.
4. CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the most notable ways to overcome your fears. First, you are made to recognize and identify the negative aspect of your mind.
Once you know what the problem is, you start to look for ways to overcome phobias. Hence, you become hopeful and you start being optimistic in life. CBT however takes time to cure your phobia, which tends to make you restless and impulsive.
5. Counselling

Counselling or psychotherapy too can cure your condition of fear or phobia. Under this treatment option you converse with a counsellor who guides you through the ways of how to create changes in life so that no fear or trepidation can deviate you from your principal aim or focus.
However, the result of counselling is often uncertain as the success of this treatment entirely depends upon the efficacy and the experience of the counselor.
6. Self-help NLP techniques and procedures – the best ways to say no to phobias
NLP self-help techniques are definitely the best and the most trusted ways to overcome phobias. With the correct use of this procedure, you can cause remarkable change in your mental “constructs” and balance the way you prefer to think and live. With self-help NLP techniques, you are able to get rid of your phobia. Fast and easy!

Hello there,its good to have this entry as we are almost come to the end of our discussion on this phobia thingy...well, personally i think, all the ways stated are accurate for person who suffers from certain phobias to look at in depth..Basically, people with chronic one`s will have their own doctor to prescribe them with certain medicines this and that...however, it might be also suitable for them to go for therapy, learn some relaxation method and meet a counselor in order to get to know themselves better...these ways indirectly will help them to always be positive in life... let say they have their friends, family and even the doctor support them, they will never feel left out and they somehow will help them to at least reduce and overcome the problem...it is good to be surrounded by people who loves you so you will not feel abandon in a sense of handling with phobias to yourself...see, how a company plays a vital role in giving you strength? till here....catch up again later...Happy Eid everyone!

Yeah, I do agree with you Farah. That's what family and friends are for right? Always help each other when in need. Furthermore, with help and support from them maybe the person that suffer from phobia can have strength to fight it.
Besides that, there are also self therapy for them where they can do relaxation and other things that makes them calm instead of paying on a counselling. They should try the relaxation therapy first and if it doesn't work, they can go to counselling or taking medicine.

I absolutely agree with you two guys. A person with phobia just cannot go through this alone, they need lots of support from their loved ones. Like any other problems, they need to open up about their phobia, let someone else know about what is really going on with them.
But as a beginning, oneself must be really determine to cure the problem, that's why they say that self-help is the best way to cure phobia :)
Determine; that was the best words Kak Liza. Yes, those people with phobia should have determination on curing phobia or else, they can't get rid of the phobia forever.
It's also useless if you got friends and family who support you but in the end you were the one that have no guts to cure it.

Those are good points. But i think the most significant among all is the 6th.
One must have the determination (as what Chah said =D) in order to be free from the phobia. No matter how often one seek counseling or, go through therapies or, comsume handful of medicine but if there's no effort from the person, all of that become useless.
I also strongly believe that friends and family contribute a huge role in helping the person who suffer phobia. Patient will have the diffrent preference of treatment.But family and friend's support are very important. And most of all, their willingness of facing the fear inside them.
But yes, most likely they have to have the ditermination, dicipline, willingness and GUTS to set themselves free! Those are the ultimate things to make it real.
